Trainee actions

A turbulent morning under the motto: School meets business … or: #Acquiring young talent on site. The annual Careers Information Day (BIT) took place on 22.11.23 at the Goethe-Schule-Harburg (GSH). Over 60 companies presented their companies and their diverse range of offers to around 1000 pupils from GSH and the Hamburg Harburg Vocational School. They communicated with enthusiasm and passion: Profession comes from vocation. The many alumni, who were recognizable on this day by a sign: “I was at GSH”, show that our young talent is actually being acquired. Conversations were held and applications were either handed over or served as a basis for discussion. Our “all-round package” begins with a friendly welcome in the parking lot by the 10os with Mr. Ziegler. The elevator “callers”, signposts and students who accompany the 8th graders and help them make contact are our BIT navigators.

Furthermore, a cafeteria is run by the 10vl with Ms. Köntges. Nobody has to starve or die of thirst and nobody gets lost. We also have this goal as a school when it comes to our students and so at the end of year 10 we know where everyone has found a place to stay. We see many of them again for one or two repairs to the house … always a happy reunion. At this year’s closing ceremony, everyone was greeted musically by the 10mu under the direction of Mr. Gillmeister, as we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Bit. A long tradition that was honored by the principal Mr. Preuße with a big thank you to the participants. The BIT organizers Ms. Zander and Ms. Habbert agree and are looking forward to the next … years.
