Our robust spot welding systems for automotive applications enable the safe joining of demanding materials

Segments

Automotive

Todays and future automotive production requires state-of-the-art materials to make the final product light and safe. At the same time, the welding systems must be intuitive to operate and feature high degree of robustness to ensure trouble-free processes. Harms & Wende masters this balancing act with high-quality product lines that are perfectly tailored to the requirements of automotive production.

Innovative solutions for robotic guns & welders, automated weld cells as well as manual systems – for perfect joining and Industry 4.0 features for steel and aluminum.

From manual systems to fully automated systems with field bus connections to cross-system networking and archiving, we offer a wide range of individual solutions for the automotive sector. Available are welding systems for use in the Industry 4.0 environment as well as manual systems.

Hot-stamped and shaped steels sheet metals, coated sheets and aluminum – with Harms & Wende welding systems you have all your materials under control.

GeniusMFI & GeniusHWI – our flagship units

Our MFDC inverters GeniusMFI and GeniusHWI base on a modular design with a power unit and slim ligned control rack. The rack holds plug-in boards needed for your task as
the CPU and welding board. The CPU board is rhe heart of the setup paired with a communication card as hard wired IO module or a fieldbus version.
Tailored firmware bundles bring the inverter to live composed just for your job.
If required functionally can be expanded for multiple jobs as steel spot welding with IQR, IQflex and aluminum mode AMF (AluModeForce).
This can accompanied with a pack of monitoring functions as PQS and inspectors.
The standard version shows feedback curves from welds on our XPegasus HMI as i. e. resistance, current and voltage.

Set-Top robot robot cabinets

When we assemble weld enclosures for you they are made acording tom your specification fitting in your fully or partly automated automotive production line.

Enclosure dimensions and mounting hole as well as cable fittings are suituated so that they fit your robot panel or rack mounting. This ensures quick, trouble free as well as save installation.

Personals protection is important. Safety locks, contactors or ground fault relays are part of the safety chain.

Easy to reach circuit breakers enhance safety. Inverter cooling is either air or water and cut-outs or fittings ensure proper mounting and keeping the inverter in his specified operational temperature. Cooling fans are sensor controlled to extend the efficiency.Elements you require in your specification can be mounted in the enclosures. Its also possible to reserve space for future equipment to save money now but insert it when needed.

The entire enclosure is designed along with you to supply with what you need today or later.

We cover different standards depanting where your systems will land as UL, CE, chinese standards and more. Get in touch!

Manual gun cabinets

Enclosure for manual spot applications.

Manual spot welding applications
Our GeniusMFI/HWI inverter series offers maximum functionality and flexibility not only on automated lines.
The manual versions use the same power unit base structure and the board set as well as the firmware makes the inverter fit for any manual production as repair stations and
low volume production and prototyping.
On standard manual weld enclosures up to two weld guns can be connected.
Schedules, counters are picked by pressing buttons on a gun – let the inverter make his job.
Parameters are set on our HMI XPegasus.
All settings are made per gun  and schedule individually, of course. When operating a two gun panel one is doing its job,
the other is automatically interlocked for safety of the operator and disconnected by an insulation contactor.
Any manual Genius inverter can any weld mode fitting the system. As system counts the inverter plus the gun – they team up.
Secondary Constant Current Regulation or adaptive feedback steel welding with IQR or other modes are possible.
The solid algorithms in IQR for example operate on manual and robot guns equally.
You program a manual gun inverter as an robot unit – signals are different – but welding is the same. Saves you time and invest.

Power classes of the unit reach from GeniusHWI406 (400 A max output current)  to GeniusHWI436 (2400 A max output current)

Prototyping (M)ulti-(T)ool-(S)ystem suitable inverters

Our Multi Tool System (MTS) is designed for prototype shops. It allows to handle  a larger number of different weld guns. Each gun carries a memory holding the configuration of each gun individually.

When a gun is connected the inverter reads the memory on the gun and the system is ready-to-weld

Our MTS is flexible as you need it. Basically you can make assemblies as you wish as long your guns fit for this part.

Hence MTS is also good for highly flexible small scale production. Its cost effective by using one inverter for many different purposes.
