DVS Special Conference Resistance Welding

Successful anniversary event in Duisburg.

As Stefan Schreiber of the SLV Duisburg so aptly put it in the announcement and invitation: “If resistance welding didn’t exist, you’d have to invent it!” The importance of resistance welding technology cannot be described more aptly. But even proven technology can and must be improved! In order to inform users about the current state of the art, numerous technical conferences have already been successfully held.

Thus, the resistance welders met this year already for the 25th time for their “Meeting Point Resistance Welding”, which was again organized by SLV Duisburg, branch of GSImbH, in cooperation with DVS – Deutscher Verband für Schweißen und verwandte Verfahren e. V. (German Welding Association). The selection of the lectures was made by the working group V3 “Resistance Welding”, which, with well over 300 members, is one of the strongest working groups in the Technical Committee of DVS.
Once again, it was a complete success to put together an interesting and entertaining event. Also the supporting program with the honors of deserving resistance welders with the glass spot weld, the technical exhibition peppered with news and innovations, the good supply with food and drink and last but not least the usual good evening program with the barbecue evening at the Duisburg Wedau was absolutely recommendable.

As already informed, Harms & Wende presented the latest solutions for resistance welding technology with a focus on digitalization, sustainability and process quality at the exhibition booth. In addition, our HWH specialists Dr. Pavel Shcheglov and Dr. Niels Mitzschke gave interesting technical presentations.
Mr. Shcheglov presented our solution HCS (high speed current) for short time projection welding with medium frequency inverters.
Mr. Mitzschke provided information on new solutions in the context of digitalization and Industry 4.0 under the topic “Digital production: increasing efficiency in the value chain through predictive maintenance”.

If you were unable to participate in Duisburg, you missed out … But there is hope.
