Classification of resistance welding processes

The individual resistance welding types are listed in DIN 1910 Part 5 and explained with regard to their sequence. Here is a list of the most common procedures with the abbreviations of the DIN standard.

The most common welding process is resistance spot welding with the abbreviation RP. A distinction is made between one-sided and two-sided spot welding. The same applies to projection welding. A further distinction is made between roller seam welding and flash butt welding. Further information can also be found in the DVS 2902 leaflet or from your Harms & Wende partner.
