DVS Working Group 3.6

The main topics of WG V 3.6 are measurement (current, voltage, force and displacement measurement), process control (constant current control, constant power control, constant voltage control and the adaptive control methods) in resistance welding, as well as process simulation.

The working group has set itself the goal of making the extensive experience available in this field accessible to users in the form of DVS leaflets and guidelines, as well as international standards. An attempt is made to explain even complicated issues in a comprehensible way or to give recommendations. Small and medium-sized enterprises without their own research and process department can benefit from this in particular.

In addition, there is a lively exchange of experience in the groups on current welding technology topics and problems from research and industry. This also includes regular reports by the research institutes on ongoing research projects and the suggestion and accompaniment of new investigations into unresolved problems.

The tasks for national and international standardisation are carried out in cooperation with the DIN Standards Committee for Welding Technology. The V 3 group corresponds with the standards committee NA 092-00-12 AA.

In subgroup V 3.6, the research units regularly report on ongoing and completed research projects. The lively discussion in the exchange of experiences often results in new research topics, which are then taken up by the research units and accompanied by the working group. The research association’s homepage lists the dates of the next expert committee meetings and excerpts of completed and ongoing projects can be viewed.

Group V 3.6 brings together experienced experts from the fields of research and industry. These come from the manufacturers of machines, welding systems and system components, the

Consultancy, research and testing facilities, as well as users of resistance welding technology, e.g. automobile manufacturers. New members are also welcome here at any time!
