Standardisation in welding on an international level

International standardisation work is closely linked to national standardisation work. Resistance welding is organised in the Technical Committee TC 44 Welding and Allied Processes. The sub-committee SC 6 deals with all questions concerning resistance welding. Mechanical joining technology is also included in this subcommittee. The exact name is “Resistance welding and allied mechanical joining”. The secretariat is run by DIN. The national mirror committee for SC 6 is the working committee NA 092-00-12 AA Resistance Welding (DVS AG V 3).

Numerous nationalities are actively involved in SC 6 and many more as observers. The specialists meet in the working sessions, which take place twice a year. You can find more information on the Internet at www.din.nas.de or www.iso.org.
